The WW Graph

By the looks and name of it, it bears a strong resemblance to the ever popular wrestling matches, yet their initials of W, stand for something prosaic, that has its strong bond with the contemporary scenario. I grew my acquaintance towards this analogy first yesterday, when in The Indian Express’s editorial column, the writer (professionally an analyst), had mentioned about the WW situation, which would further be unfolded in the form of a WW graph, eventually.

By Ww, he specifically referred to us, inclusive of the entrepreneurs, buyers, homemakers and consumers, to wait and watch. Now, in that specific article, he made a mention about various facets of life, which were definitely open to interpretations, and as mentioned, I didn’t bar myself from analysing further.

Let’s begin with the stock markets. Going by Twitter trends, and also substantiated by leading financial publications, it’s noted that the stock market has literally been surging up amid the chaos, and critical situation. Experts say that the current market is being driven by increasingly dispassionate computers that run majorly on algorithms, and also under the whims of the investors that are always looking forward and ahead to scale up, well, at least in theory. Amid this, experts have also stated that if one gives an honest opinion to others to invest in the same, there are thick chances that all investments would be fruitful, thus, on a much safer side, it would be better to rather wait and watch, until the condition improves.

Now, let’s talk about the job sector. As of now, many would be opining that rather than making switches in career, it would be better to stay put, analyse the situation, and then take a leap of faith perhaps. To put it in simpler terms, just wait and watch. This shall hold true for consumers as well, that would most definitely be hesitant to invest in gold now, due to the ambiguous market scenario, and a little delay in the same, could perhaps result in lowering down prices. Waiting and watching.

As mentioned earlier, under such uncertain and unprecedented times, it holds true that truly established and robust establishments have been faltering of late, and have experienced many ups and downs. Yet, perhaps, this is where resilience and perseverance comes to play. At length, and mostly towards the end, the writer makes a mention of the SS curve, which stands as an acronym for spend and support. There would be a massive shift in the behavioural pattern of both the consumer and the seller, yet the analyst is optimistic about its growth. So, should I be leaning more towards the WW curve or the SS curve?
