Cancel Netflix?

Talking about this, as Twitter has been flooded with the hashtag, and you kind of get blown out when this is the first thing in the morning that you see…

Here's a snippet.

Well, the accusations on Netflix aren't really baseless, rather it's shocking, on Netflix's part for promoting such shows that lead to controversy…

The shock about Netflix promulgating such programmes is more prone as just back in 2018, the body had been quite proactive in taking action against the protagonist featuring in political drama 'House of Cards', where he was just to appear in the final season, and the show couldn't be imagined without him, as it encircled around his psychology. Also, Frank Underwood, the fictional President of the United States had made a place in the minds of the viewers owing to his super ambitious and megalomaniacal nature one that he wouldn't compromise usually.

He craved power so much that while he was devising a new strategy, or crossing the road, where his thoughts were being disturbed by as meek a creature as a bird, he wouldn't mind putting it to silence…

Brutal, inhuman, hungry for power, yet as a viewer you would want to know what's going on inside his head, and would be waiting with bated breath for the following season to arrive. When the arrival of Season 6 was being announced, it came to respite to one and all, yet again heaving a deep sigh on learning that there wouldn't be any Frank Underwood in the same, and that he was dead.

You just couldn't swallow and digest the fact. Watching the House of Cards sans Frank? How on earth is that even feasible? Yet, viewers understood the discretion of Netflix and even lauded the content aggregator's decision on taking a strong stance against anyone who has been involved in any form of sexual harassment.

Then, how on earth would it hold true that the same platform is advocating child sex abuse? Thing is, how much ever viewers want to abide by their logical minds, somewhere deep down inside an effect still persists, which is awfully detrimental on children.

This is relevant especially at a time when everyone is battling the pandemic, and looking upto the internet as a saviour. It's a time when content aggregators must take accountability for screening such shows that don't have a derogatory impact on the minds of the viewers.

Would I be cancelling my subscription on Netflix? Perhaps not. But of course, shall sever myself from being a witness to such horrendous stuff..
