What Brightens up my Day? Enzo Macleod

Period. Enzo Macleod is that chap that gets you thinking deep into why did a particular thing happen, when you are about to question its existence, in the Macleod style he’d probably say or investigate for that matter, that why did it exist in the first place.

Now, why do I say that Enzo Macleod brightens up my morning is sorely because of the fact that I spend a lot of time with him, post an early dinner, and say roughly for a good half an hour to 40 minutes, reading about his expeditions about him solving a case, and the ways that he acquires to address and solve them eventually.

Like on a dreary day as yesterday, I continued with my evening ritual of seeking refuge in Enzo, hoping for it to turn exciting, and guess what, he didn’t fail me, and lived upto my expectations. Additionally, yesterday was the most exciting day of all days, when the scene opened up with double murders, and what made it more interesting was the fact that they were being committed in the same place, which was a wine field, and too in a place that Enzo’s assistant Nichole had rented.

Matters get even more interesting on realisation that Nichole’s landlord had a huge amount of disliking for the first guy that got killed, a wine taster. He’d always speak ill of the deceased, and would state that he wasn’t particularly very fond of him, one might even say that using a word as strong as despised wouldn’t really be an exaggeration…

Nichole finds herself in a fix soon. One, because of the fact that she was residing in the same place that was a witness to two murders, and two because she had her doubts on the landlord, Fabien that she secretly began liking, and couldn’t obviously confide in her boss, Enzo, or Monsieur Macleod, as she liked to address him.

Thing is as a reader when you read about such stuff, you start imagining such things, and also don the imaginary detective hat somewhere. You begin pondering as to whether or not the landlord actually have a hand in the killings, and if so how’d Nichole be able to cope up with this situation, suppressing the emotional side of her, and turning out to be the able assistant detective that she was.

Meanwhile, how would Enzo be cracking this case? Would his Scottish roots help him achieve the goal somehow, and would those get extra active while working on this case on the soils of France? He would for sure not be shattering his fans’ expectations, yet it’s to be seen what method he applies for the same… I go to bed every night travelling through the lanes of France, amid the Chateaux, and wine fields.

These trips ensure that the next day isn’t as monotonous as you contemplated it to be, mostly because your mind is still wandering in France. This in itself is infectious enough to brighten up my mornings, and who else can I give the credit to, other than Enzo Macleod?
