How Imperative Is External Validation?

Well, quite a lot of people would say yes, and that one nod or comment from the ones they seek validation from, would literally make their day. But the point is how very reliable is that, or as a matter of fact, how many people would you go around seeking validation from? And, what’s to be done if their conception doesn’t match up with you?

Would you end up feeling terrible, getting depressed, or would you actually take it as a compliment, and decide that you are going to work on it? Feels bad to write, but majorly it’s the former where the person seeking validation from external sources ends up being miserable himself. Now, this is bothering indeed. Isn’t it? Imagine how does it feel to hand over the reins of your life or lifestyle to someone that doesn’t know you fully?

Often there have been discussions and immense writeups about being kind to the self. But point is, in our daily lives, we often indulge in countless such occasions where we end up blaming ourselves blatantly, only because an external source said something that we aren’t perhaps in line with.

But, is it easier said than done? Undoubtedly, it isn’t child’s play, there’s a struggle. A whole lot of it, but perhaps there is lighting at the end of the tunnel. Honestly, what’s the point of being so vulnerable at everything and towards everyone, when you clearly know that this is your own fight that you have to out up valiantly?

Also in case, you are adjusted to external validation, it’s time that you must know all of this is pretty shortlived. That it’s going to end one day or the other. So, maybe it’s time to seek validation from the most important being. Yourself and none else.
