Finding The Light Sooner Or Later

Hello there, dear readers, what’s happening with y’all? How is this week treating you? For me, well, I have been striving to keep a check on my mind, control my emotions and make sure that no matter what I am getting to where I am supposed to be.

Is it hard you ask? For sure, it is hard, super hard and in fact, there are moments when I want to quit every day, but as y’all know that I have promised myself not to quit until I win, and I would not. I will continue being persistent as I am now, and I feel this persistence will only increase in the near future.

Speaking of persistence, I have noticed that this is a trait that is common among most successful people. Also, I have discovered that those that are successful aren’t always the most talented, or smart, but they are definitely persistent, meaning quitting is just not in their nature.

Remember, the famous Thomas Edison had failed ten thousand times before he was successful. And there are countless such examples - Elon Musk said in many interviews that whenever he plans on making a product or an idea successful, in his mind he tries every possible way to make it successful or he will just die trying.

You see? Now, that’s an attitude I admire. I gotta narrate one more anecdote here. It’s about the famous novelist Fannie Hurst who came to Broadway and New York with a ton of dreams, just like everyone else, but she was different from the others as she was after the big stakes. They say that Broadway is kind enough to feed all beggars with coffee and sandwich, but it takes courage to go after the big stakes, and that was what Hurst was after.

Her work was rejected by tons of publishers, and no one wanted to work with her, in fact, they didn’t even want to see her face, but she was not one to pack her bags. She would look at Broadway, smile, and say, “Very well Broadway, you may whip some, but not me, I am going to force you to give up.”

It’s really inspiring for a person like her who arrived newly in the city of New York to display the amount of courage that she has shown. Soon after, she was contacted by publishers, who were eventually impressed with her work and she could name her price now, well, isn’t that fascinating?

Personally, I can say that these anecdotes have had a very positive impact on me. Each time I read about them my blood boils and makes me feel that I gotta do something similar in my life, I gotta make it.

In conclusion, I’d like to add a quote by one of my favourite monks Swami Vivekananda who said, “Every work has to pass through hundreds of difficulties before succeeding, those that persevere will see the light sooner or later.”
